Meet Coach Chris, our very own ‘all gas, no brakes’ never-ending source of energy, fun and fitness wisdom.
Chris loves his fitness, in all forms. But what he really loves is to bring fitness and happiness into our athletes lives. He lives for the grind. Its head down and get stuck in when he’s around. You’ll always have someone guiding you towards fitter, happier and probably sweatier when Chris is in class.
- Joined: I joined CFF as a member in September 2022
- Coaching since: 2018. CF-L1 and Level 3 PT
- Favourite gym song: Its close between ‘Limp Bizkit – Take a look around’ and ‘Rage Against the Machine – Bulls on Parade’.
- Party Trick: I can do the worm (after a beer or 2)
- Favourite CrossFit moment: My first Open in 2023. Friday Night Lights for 23.2; workout went well. But the support, the community was so special. Really made me realise what CrossFit is all about. That and hitting 100kg Clean and Jerk, that was big for me. (We all have a number we want to get).
- Favourite Coaching moment: Too many; seeing athletes surprise themselves thinking something wasn’t possible. We do the work together, get the right coaching in place and… oh hello… knew you could do it. Always great.
- Most humbling CrossFit moment: Southern Rivals Quads competition Oct 2023. Came face to face with my weaknesses that day. Knew I had to get back to class and work on them to get better.
- How would you describe yourself: Laidback, rugby loving dad….humbly energetic if you will hahaha
- What do you want to be when you grow up: A Coach! So lucky to do what I love everyday; its not work when you love what you do.
- Favourite Shoe: Reebok Nano X
- Favourite Workout: Diane (its not even close)
- Most savage Workout: Sam Harlow and Brett Lilley programmed a nightmare workout for one of our in-house competitions. There was Echo Bike, into Cleans, into a Max Clean and Jerk…. I swear it nearly ended me!
